Defending Communities with 100-Year Protection

Infrastructure

Reliant is delivering critical flood protection infrastructure as part of the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain (WSLP) project in Southeast Louisiana. This $3.7 billion initiative will provide 100-year storm surge risk reduction for surrounding communities.

Complex Civil Construction

Reach 106 is one phase of the WSLP project that showcases Reliant’s expertise in pile driving and levee construction adjacent to active infrastructure, as well as our ability to perform complex marine and heavy civil construction in constrained, high-traffic zones. Reliant has coordinated closely with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) to minimize disruption along Interstate 10, one of the state’s busiest corridors.

The concrete T-wall crossing under an elevated section of the interstate requires installing 36-inch steel pipe piles on each side of the wall to create a temporary retaining structure. Inside the barrier, Reliant is driving deep H-piles to support the cast-in-place concrete T-wall.

This work demonstrates precision in pile driving, levee construction, and geotechnical engineering adjacent to critical infrastructure while integrating structural, marine, and civil services.

Reliant’s Scope of Work

  • 5,100 linear feet of levee construction
  • Cast-in-place T-wall with structural concrete
  • Deep foundations, including H-piles and 36” pipe piles
  • Site work within the I-10 corridor, including drainage excavation and engineered fill
  • Compacted clay placement and wick drain installation
  • Pipeline removal to accommodate levee alignment
  • Third-party testing for welds, compaction, and concrete strength
  • Continuous surveying to ensure compliance with USACE specifications
